New Years' Resolutions

Never tell your resolution beforehand, or it's twice as onerous a duty. ~John Selden

I'm making two resolutions this year.

  1. Make a new recipe each month.
I have all these cool cookbooks. And I’ve probably tried maybe 3 recipes in each? My brother gave me Rachael Ray's 365 No Repeats cookbook for Christmas. I love her stuff because it really does take about 30 minutes to make AND tastes great. To further motivate myself, because I thought of this resolution last year too, I’m going to turn it into a scrapbook project. Sort of the ScrapGal recipe swap but with just me. Plus it will be a great way to improve my food styling and photographing skills. Got any hints Amy?
  2. Save $5,000.
Now this one I really have to be accountable for. Because For Me magazine is profiling me, the girl who spends any cash in her wallet, on their website. It’s something I very much want to achieve (and exceed if possible) Being out of work for nearly a year drained what little nest egg I accummulated. I hated that feeling. I want to avoid that if for some reason, another job in the future decides I and my department no longer need to work there. Having no car payment come February will be a big help but I also want to trim my spending here and there. And learn to funnel that money into my savings account where I can’t touch it!

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. ~Oprah Winfrey

I love your resolution about using your cookbooks. I really should take a picture of my collection...it boggles MY mind. And I'm loving RR's new book. I've made about 10 of the recipes so far and they are delish. Good luck with the savings thing these are definitely doable resolutions!
